“As each has received a gift,

use it to serve one another,

as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

– 1 Peter 4:10

The Outreach Ministry Team keeps the congregation informed, while educating, inspiring and leading members in ministry to our church, community, and beyond.

The Outreach Ministry Team is one of the primary ways our church serves and reaches out to the world beyond our sanctuary. The Team informs and educates the congregation about local, national, and world needs, coordinates several of the congregation’s direct service projects and oversees distribution of funds to a wide variety of non-profit agencies, both faith-based and secular.

passion for missionAt Hawker UCC, we see mission, as one way of serving God and each other. We are committed with our time, talents and treasure to do God’s work in our community and in our world. We reach out to our local community and beyond by hands-on service through Mission Trips, collecting food for F.I.S.H. and Feed the Creek, Cancer Relay for Life Team, sewing and knotting sleeping bags for the homeless, school supply collection, filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child and Greenwood Manor Christmas gift collection.

Hawker Church also reaches out to the community offering space for meetings, fellowship and outreach during the year through: Chartering Cub Pack 74, Boy Scout Troop 42, and Venturing Crew 42; Mission Trip in June; Car Show in August; and by providing various support to Trinity Community, a United Church Home here in Beavercreek.

Every year at Hawker, a group of our children, teens, young adults, parents and guardians

go on a Mission Trip to Tennesse to help some one in need.

The one thing we all have in common is our dedication to help others. And the more volunteers we have, the bigger impact we can all make.

Together we can make a difference.

This is an opportunity for all ages to extend our Outreach to those beyond our own community.

We will be lending a hand to someone in need with house painting. A great time for sharing our
talents and fellowship as we serve together in this worthwhile mission. Come join us!

There is always time for fun!

Hawker charters three Scouting organizations providing facilities for their meetings and various activities. The Scouts provide manpower and support to Hawker’s ministries and events.

Cub Pack 74  has program components for boys in the first through fifth grades (or ages 7, 8, 9, or 10). A key element of the program is an emphasis on caring, nurturing relationships between boys and their parents, adult leaders, and friends. First-grade boys (Tiger Cubs) meet twice a month, while Wolf Cub Scouts (second graders), Bear Cub Scouts (third graders), and Webelos Scouts (fourth and fifth graders) meet weekly.

Troop 42  is a participating member of the Chillicothe District of the Tecumseh Council, Boy Scouts of America. They are an active, vibrant troop with a busy schedule of outdoor camping activities, special events, and community service projects.

Troop meetings are on Monday nights from 7-8:30pm in the Church’s upstairs Scout Room.

The Venturing Crew  is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.

Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Venturing provides opportunities for members to experience a program that is fun and full of challenge and adventure in sports, arts and hobbies, youth ministries, or Sea Scouting.

If you are interested in joining one of these fun and exciting groups, please call the Church Office at 426-0973 or visit Troop 42’s website: www.bsatroop42.org
