We are pleased to announce the call of Pastor David Williamson to serve as our Settled Pastor!

After one year of sorting through resumes and interviewing candidates, we celebrate God sending the right one to serve our church and community.  Pastor Williamson began on  October 1st.

As Settled Pastor, Pastor David will focus on equipping our church to merge faith and life. He will oversee our “stages of life” staff (children, youth, young adult, and senior adult) to ensure the process of discipleship is properly implemented for all ages in our church. Pastor Williamson has a wide variety of experience including worship ministry, youth ministry, teaching, and discipleship. His many years of working with volunteers and leading ministry teams in addition to his background in growing churches makes him a great fit for this position.

Our new pastor is in his 27th year of ordained ministry.  Baptized and raised in the United Church of Christ, he was born and grew up in New York City.  He is a graduate of Hofstra, American, and Yale Universities.  Prior to his arrival at Hawker Church, he served congregations in Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania.  A former Army chaplain, he has also been a police chaplain, a fire department chaplain (receiving the 2015 Ed Stauffer [Founder's] Award from the Federation of Fire Chaplains), and a Boy Scout camp chaplain (receiving the Silver Beaver Award in 2010).

 Pastor Dave and Julia

Pastor David has been married since 1990 to the Rev. Julia Williamson, who is also a graduate of Yale Devinity School and who most recently served as pastor of a church in western Pennsylvania.

They have a son, James, who is a 2017 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
