For Friends and Visitors

All are welcome at Hawker Church. We are an inclusive community and as part of the United Church of Christ, we affirm the warm welcome and hospitality of our tradition with the affirmation: "No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here."

Dear Friends in Faith,

On behalf of the leadership and the whole congregation, we welcome you to this website! Transformation is the vision and heartbeat of who we are (We love the way Romans 12:1,2 shares it in scripture - check it out!)!  We believe that God loves us enough to meet us where we are (no matter where that is!), and transform us into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ where we discover life in its fullest.  When this happens, not only do we find our own lives being transformed on the inside with love, joy, grace, and life, but we discover that our lives and those in our community are changed on the outside as well as we learn to walk in faith.

We invite you to explore what Hawker Church is all about.  Please take a few minutes to check out this website along with our Facebook page. Get to know our staff.  Check out what our discipleship pathway is all about.

The best way to find out about our upcoming events and monthly Newsletter is to join our Mailing-List. Your personal information stays only with us and is protected. Join our mailing-list here.

We hope that you find what you are searching for both here on the Internet and in the faith community that gathers on Sunday mornings and throughout the week to engage in tangible Christian ministry.

If you join us for worship, you will likely find that it is a joyful celebration each Sunday. If you investigate our church's history, you will find that we are part of The United Church of Christ, which is one of the youngest American denominations. However, our roots go deep in the Congregational Church, which was founded in the early 1600s, seeking religious freedom and a spiritual community. If you look at our ministries, you will find that we are engaged in programs of outreach, music, faith formation and youth ministry that transform lives in the congregation and in the world around us.  If you get to know the people of this congregation, you will likely find that there is both a diversity of backgrounds and a basic unity of Spirit as pilgrims journeying together in faith, seeking to follow Jesus Christ in humility, prayer, praise and compassion every day.

Again, thank you for checking out who we are.  We hope to get to know you in the days ahead and share in the journey with you.  Please let us know what questions you may have or opportunities you may want to explore, or simply come to Sunday worship at 10:30am.

God bless you and we hope to see you soon!

God's Peace,
Rev. Dr. Tom M. Garrison, Interim Pastor
