Music
With trumpet, with the sound of horns,
With strings, yes, with the lyre,
With voices praise the sovereign God,
A lusty, joyous choir.
—Psalm 98
Music at Hawker is one of our most important and vital ministries, expanding and enhancing worship, with traditional, innovative and classical music. At the heart of worship services music is a central vehicle of prayer, praise, welcome and affirmation. In the spirit of memory, thanksgiving and hope, we sing with the belief in the power of the arts to inspire, affirm, and transform.
Danny Voris
Music Minister, Danny Voris has been with Hawker since 2007. He holds a Masters degree in classical guitar performance, and is currently Instructor of guitar, both at Sinclair Community College and Clark State Community College. Danny leads the Chancel Choir and oversees a comprehensive music program including the Children’s Choir. His remarkable talent enriches our worship playing the classical guitar. Danny not only works with Hawker youngsters but with children and teens of all ages. In 2012 Danny formed the Hawker Youth Band. Their Annual Performance during Advent has become a rich tradition.

Jan Lehman’s mother taught her to play piano when she was a little girl, then continued with piano lessons. Every Sunday afternoon her large family gathered around the piano singing spiritual songs. Jan has played all her life for personal enjoyment, at church, at school and nursing homes. Music uplifts her soul. Ms. Lehman has been the organist/pianist at Hawker Church since 2012. We are blessed to have Jan Lehman as part of our music program.
